Up and away

I'm writing this from the hotel in Madrid where I arrived about an hour ago after a straightforward journey from Sydney vía Dubai, and a successful circumnavigation of Madrid using public transport. One reason for this brief entry is to see that I can post an entry from "foreign parts". The Pilgrimage is now well and truly begun. I'm feeling eager to get further into Spain. I will probably write again when I've started walking.

  2. Glad to hear you've reached your 1st stage - I wonder how long it will be before you start to wind down? Always takes me a week then it's usually tine to come back home.

Cities are so interesting to walk. Look at the buildings above the shops in the streets, first floors upwards. Did this in London and it's really interesting. If you see any weird and wonderful doors and feel like taking a photo of them I'd be most grateful for a digital copy. I collect images of interesting doors (yes, I know it's a bit weird!)

Lots of love from us down here in sunny Devon

  3. Hello uncle Peter, We miss you but are please that you have at last met a lady that talks the same as you. Are you going to marry her? Daddy said to let you know that he got a message yesterday from your really big friend and said I could send it on to you. Keep safe and dry cause I don't want you to get another cold like you had when you stayed with us. Love from us all your little friend Garfield.
